The itinerary
Depart Istanbul between 06:00 and 07:00 from centrally located hotels, arriving at Eceabat around 12:15 for lunch, then the Gallipoli battlefields through the afternoon. Troy the following day before returning.
Day one: Gallipoli
ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair and the Commonwealth cemeteries, with Turkish guides who present the campaign from both sides u2014 the Ottoman defence was commanded here by Mustafa Kemal, later Atatu00fcrk.
Day two: Troy
Nine cities stacked on one another across 3,500 years, with the layers visible in the excavation trenches. The site museum, opened in 2018, does much of the interpretation.
